V7 III Special.. starter switch fail?

All,

Ever since I bought the bike about two years ago I have an erratic issue. Turn the key, dials boot up, then press starter switch. Probably 75% of the time: normal start. Other times: nothing. Did it this morning again. I turned off key, and on again, and then normal start.

I wonder, perhaps, if my gloved thumb is an issue? Seems if I press the right EDGE of the starter button, it starts. One time while running errands it took me maybe five tries for the bike to catch. Battery,...

First V85TT Issue in the World?

So a couple of days ago, my V85TT overheated on me while I was driving. Once the overheat warning light popped up, I had thankfully reached my destination and immediately turned it off.

V7 iii whining

Hi folks,
I recently traded in my'11 V7-I Classic for a V 7 III Stone NIGHT PACK.
Love it so far, many improvements to the V7-I.
Would be fun to ride IF there wasnt that whining sound of the engine all the time when revving up.
Occurs in idle mode and in every gear, no matter clutched is pulled, or not.
Never had such prominent whining on the V7-I before.

It really drives me nuts as this whining, in particular in low speed, spoils the deep sonor V2 sound Guzzi was known for. I am...

V85TT Evap and Tip Info

First service done yesterday on the RentAGuzzi/RideMalibu.com V85TT, which included some exploratory investigation on the inner workings. Below is info on the evap and tip valve to eliminate the fuel tank pressurization and future running issues, like all other V7/V9s. I ran out of time to see if they used the half plastic/half metal filter, but I will do it when I can dig into the ECU fueling. It also looks like they shared the air box with the 1400, so...

Brake light flasher

I installed a Denali B6 third brake light along the bottom edge of the license plate and it is quite bright, easily overpowering the stock brake light. At the same time, I tried to install a brake light flasher but could not get it to work. I've installed the same make/model of flasher in two other bikes and they work great.

The flasher worked fine when I tested it and the B6 on the bench, but I can't get the flasher to work on my '15 Norge. I think it is because the brake wire...

Hi all,

Last weekend I bought a 2013 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone. It had been sitting a while, but the previous owner put in a new battery and it fired up OK. It would run with a low idle and sometimes die without a little rev for the first 5 min of running it after it sat for a bit. The price was right so I ended up going with it.

I rode it ~20 miles that weekend and the gas light came on. I filled it up and rode home. The next day I went to ride to work and it wouldn't start. The fuel pump...

Last Sunday, I took my Eldo for a ride, after doing maintenance work/ cleaning on it during the previous week. About an hour into my ride, the red warning light illuminated, and the word "SERVICE" appeared in place of the odometer reading. I didn't have the owner's manual with me to give me any guidance. For those even remotely following this Forum or FB/IG over the years, I've been threatening a monster custom build for several years now. Well... the time has come. Under my new business name launch (soon), GT Motocycles or GTM in short, our first build is underway in-house @GTM as seen below. Since Guzzi never brought in the Bellagio, we're building our own version.
The ~140+ rwhp GTM 1380cc motor with RG custom cam is now having the frame built around it per below....

2017 V7 III Check Engine Light

Hey guys, new member and new owner of a 2017 V7 III (green and black). I have 450 miles on it and my check engine light comes on intermittently. Came on 2 weeks ago, then went off a day later. Came on 3 days ago, off the next day, just came on today.

The manual, p. 64 states that "In the event that the instrument cluster or the ECU detect a fault, the descriptions of the types of alarm will be shown on the display..."

Mine shows nothing of the type. The bike starts, stops, runs fine,...

My battery died. I left the key on for about three days. After recharging the battery I turned the key on and after the speedo sweep the head light turned off and the display read "CAN BUSS ERROR". What does this mean?

V7/9 Fuel Filter Replacement How-To

Run your tank low or drain as we did for the video below.
For the record, the half plastic/half metal filter failures (shown below) has nothing to do with ethanol, though not debatable that it makes it far worse for a short service life.
The manufacturer, Mahle, states it is was only designed for use with diesel fuel, and on no account should it be immersed gasolene.

Well I finally got around to installing the suspension kit that I purchased off Izzy, at Suspensions R Us in Seaford Victoria Australia, about 2 1/2 years ago, also the K & L Lift previously best thing motorbike money can be spent on.
